From lychee pork to fried rice noodles and Shaxian snacks, flavors from Fujian province are finding new audiences around the world. Restaurants serving Fujian dishes are taking different approaches to reach overseas diners, from buffet dining and food delivery to chain stores.

In Chile, Fujian-born restaurateur Wang Yingle serves a range of traditional dishes  across his five Chinese buffet restaurants, giving diners an easier way to explore the cuisine. For customers unfamiliar with Chinese food, seeing the dishes and ingredients before choosing what to eat can make the experience more accessible.

A shop in Riyadh offering a range of Shaxian snacks, such as peanut sauce noodles, wontons, steamed dumplings, and clay-pot soup, is reaching Saudi Arabian customers through both its store and delivery platforms. The shop joined Keeta, Meituan's overseas food-delivery platform, soon after opening in May 2025. Local customers now account for 70 to 80 percent of its clientele, and the business has expanded to two outlets.

Noodle Canteen, a chain in New Zealand, has expanded to 63 outlets, standardizing its recipes, sauces, and procedures while retaining traditional cooking techniques. Its open kitchens allow customers to watch dishes being prepared, giving diners a closer look at the cooking process.

Fujian cuisine is finding new audiences overseas, as its flavors make their way into local dining scenes.
