Ge Guilu, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the dean of the College of Foreign Languages at Fujian Normal University, brought a proposal to the CPPCC National Committee focused on the preservation and utilization of world heritage resources at this year's two sessions.
Ge's impactful work includes the editing of a series of bilingual books focusing on the translation of Fujian's historical and cultural content into English. These books provide insightful explorations into Fuzhou's Yantai Mountain, the culturally-rich Cangshan district in Fuzhou, the ancient house culture of Fuzhou, the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys of Fuzhou, and Fujian's shipping culture.
Furthermore, the collaboration between the College of Foreign Languages at Fujian Normal University and the Fujian International Communication Center has led to the establishment of the "HolaFujian" brand, aimed at enhancing the international influence of the region's culture.
Ge emphasized the pivotal role of young people in cultural dissemination, highlighting the importance of making China's voice heard. He stressed the need for efforts to strengthen international communication and promote exchange between civilizations, emphasizing the complementary nature of these endeavors.
In his vision, Ge underlined the necessity of upholding the concept of cultural exchange and mutual learning to encourage the creative transformation and development of traditional Chinese culture. He said he believes that this approach will provide an enduring source of motivation for the cultural development and transformation of China's rich heritage.
