In line with the unified deployment of the National Health Commission, a nationwide unified 12356 psychological assistance hotline will be implemented by May 1. Fuzhou Neuropsychiatric Prevention and Treatment Hospital has officially connected to the 12356 psychological assistance hotline on March 24, providing round-the-clock psychological support.

This initiative aims to enhance the accessibility, efficiency, and convenience of psychological assistance services, providing the public with a more streamlined platform for seeking psychological support.

Before adopting the 12356 hotline, the Fuzhou Neuropsychiatric Prevention and Treatment Hospital operated three separate hotlines: the Fujian psychological assistance hotline (0591-85666661), the Fuzhou youngsters' mental health service hotline (0591-85666222), and the Fuzhou psychological assistance hotline (0591-85666221). These hotlines have provided continuous 24-hour service, receiving over 150,000 calls for assistance since their inception.

Through professional psychological counseling, emotional adjustment, and crisis intervention, the hotline team has effectively helped reduce psychological distress, prevent suicide, and manage incidents related to severe mental disorders, playing a crucial role in promoting social harmony and stability.

To improve hotline service quality, the Fuzhou Neuropsychiatric Prevention and Treatment Hospital will host a province-wide training session for hotline counselors in April. The training will focus on psychological crisis intervention, emotional counseling, professional consultation skills, and other aspects to ensure that the hotline services are more professional, precise, and efficient.

Currently, all nine prefecture-level cities in Fujian province have aligned their psychological assistance hotlines with the 12356 psychological assistance hotline, offering 24/7 psychological support services in accordance with the National Health Commission's guidelines.
