The 2025 May Day Consumer Season in Fujian kicked off on April 25 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province.
In line with the model of "government setting the stage, businesses taking the lead and shared benefits for all", the launch ceremony introduced a series of initiatives and policies aimed at revitalizing consumption and highlighting Fujian's strengths in products, businesses and tourism.
At the event, Fujian's commerce department unveiled key activities for the May Day Consumer Season, focusing on 10 areas including high-quality foreign trade products, trade-ins of old for new products and financial support for consumer spending.
With over 1,000 consumer promotion activities planned across the province, collaboration among government entities, businesses, associations and financial institutions, alongside pro-consumer policies, seeks to foster a wide range of retail experiences and to stimulate a more dynamic spending environment.
Throughout the May Day Consumer Season, new consumption engines will be established by enhancing the quality of services and expanding consumption. That's in the areas of entertainment, tourism, education, health services, dining, accommodation, home services, elderly care and in the childcare sectors.
Additionally, regions throughout the province will actively promote locally-themed consumer activities.
Furthermore, Fujian UnionPay, in partnership with financial institutions province-wide, has unveiled consumer-friendly policies. They're designed to boost spending during the May Day period, offering millions in incentives across food, shopping, travel, entertainment and more.
