The third Longyan Talent Week and the 2025 Longyan Industrial Chain Talent Innovation Conference kicked off on Aug 27 in Longyan, Fujian province, underscoring the city's commitment to talent-driven innovation.
The event introduced the "9+3" talent innovation policies, which include initiatives like the silver-haired talent project, the entrepreneurial partner program and the cultivation of outstanding engineers. These policies aim to comprehensively support talent development, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across various fields.
During the conference, representatives from Longyan's counties and the High-tech Zone presented appointment letters to the specially appointed expert groups focusing on key industrial chains. They also delivered presentations on the key industrial chains in their regions.
A significant highlight was the launch of the "Talent Gathering in Longyan" smart service platform and the signing of agreements for 84 talent innovation projects, totaling 15.76 billion yuan ($2.2 billion). These projects cover crucial sectors such as non-ferrous metals, new energy materials, electronic information, and machinery.
This year's talent week follows a "1+1+5+N" format, featuring one industrial chain talent innovation conference, one Fujian Province New Generation Information Technology Application Innovation Competition, and five future industry talent matchmaking events. These events focus on areas like new battery technology, future display technology, smart driving, next-generation semiconductors, and solid-state batteries.
Additional activities include discussions with top students, patent conversion and application matchmaking, and various county and district-level events.
