The "Voices in the Town, Enjoy A Cappella" event was staged on Aug 29 in Pingtan Aoqian Taiwan Town, Fujian province, featuring performances by 15 a cappella groups.

The vibrant musical gathering was part of the 2025 Pingtan Island Choral Festival, showcasing the integration of vocal arts with cultural tourism to offer an immersive experience for both residents and visitors.

Pingtan Aoqian Taiwan Town is transforming, moving from a traditional commodity trading market into a vibrant district that integrates culture, commerce, and tourism, creating spaces that blend cultural experiences with leisure and entertainment.

The 1688 Offline Experience Center there, located in Building 27, is currently undergoing interior decoration. Occupying a floor space of about 1,250 square meters, it's set to begin trial operations in September 2025.

The center aims to be a regional hub for online transactions, onsite displays, supply chain services and e-commerce training.

The town is developing special business models by transforming a sunken plaza into an immersive performance theater and creating an experiential district with shared cultural memories.

Focusing on cross-Strait integration, efforts are underway to attract Taiwan businesses in collaboration with the Fujian Taiwan Compatriots Investment Enterprises Association.

Plans include establishing a distinctive food street, family-friendly parks and sports projects, inviting top Taiwan teams to enhance the town's appeal and promote its development.

Since 2025, the town has hosted various events to boost its brand, including the May Day Cultural Arts Week. It also plans to host the Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition finals in late September.

As Pingtan Taiwan Town continues its transformation, it's poised to contribute significantly to the development of Pingtan International Tourism Island.
