Since the announcement two years ago to establish Fujian as a demonstration zone for integrated development across the Taiwan Strait, significant progress has been made, with its influence steadily expanding.

Enhanced convenience as the "first home" for Taiwan compatriots and enterprises

The digital "First Home" service platform now offers comprehensive online services for Taiwan residents of Fujian, processing over 12,000 service requests to date. Legal service centers for Taiwan-related matters have been established in five regions, including Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Pingtan. Additionally, many Taiwan teachers have secured full-time positions in the province, while nearly 2,200 Taiwan students are enrolled in local universities.

Vibrant economic and personnel exchanges

Eight new entrepreneurial parks for Taiwan farmers have been set up, and the first cross-Strait standard information and service platform has been established, developing 308 shared standards and recognizing 60 Taiwan vocational qualifications. The "Mini Three Links" ferry services have increased to 252 trips weekly. From January to August this year, over 1.73 million passengers traveled between Fujian and Taiwan, a 36.4 percent year-on-year increase.

Deepening cultural and social exchanges

Grassroots exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan continue to expand. Approximately 28,000 Taiwan compatriots participated in various cross-Strait activities in Fujian from January to August, marking a 40% increase from the previous year. Many young people from Taiwan have come to Fujian for internships, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Sustained momentum in cross-Strait integration across Fujian

Efforts to equalize, universalize, and simplify public services between Xiamen and Kinmen have been implemented. Fuzhou has launched two batches integration initiatives with Matsu, and the Sanming cross-Strait rural integration development pilot zone is progressing rapidly, showcasing unique integration practices across the region.
