Fujian boosts marine economy with major investment deals

Fujian province secured agreements for 172 marine economy projects during the 2025 World Maritime Equipment Conference, with a total investment surpassing 200 billion yuan ($28.07 billion).
Fifty major projects, totaling 99.15 billion yuan in investments, were signed at the Fujian Marine Economy Industry Cooperation and Innovative Development Conference, a key event of the conference, which took place on Oct 16 in Fuzhou.
Notable projects include the "blue granary" construction in Dongshan county and the Huateng offshore new energy storage equipment manufacturing project. These initiatives underscore a strong focus on emerging marine industries, robust corporate capabilities, and promising investment prospects.
The 3rd China Maritime Equipment Expo concluded on Oct 19, receiving around 38,700 professional buyers and 194,500 visits, resulting in deals worth 49.3 billion yuan.
The expo featured 12 specialized exhibition areas and four sub-brand exhibitions, showcasing over 7,000 products from 812 companies. It highlighted significant scientific breakthroughs and included more than 30 professional forums and educational activities, covering sectors such as offshore energy and green decarbonization, and unmanned systems and intelligentization.
Having already been held twice in Fuzhou, the World Maritime Equipment Conference has become a key platform for advancing the global maritime equipment industry towards high-end, intelligent, and green development, fostering high-quality growth in the marine economy.
