In a vibrant celebration of cross-cultural exchange, the School of Overseas Education (School of Foreign Languages) at Sanming University has launched a weekly English - Chinese corner. With the theme "Building Bridges of Friendship Through Language", the activity provides an informal and interactive platform for communication and cultural exchange.

The event aims to help Chinese students improve their spoken English, particularly for IELTS preparation, and to support international students as they develop their Chinese language skills and adapt to campus and local life. By shifting communication from "textbooks" to real-life conversations, the language corner fosters confidence and promotes mutual understanding.

The launch was attended by faculty leadership, including Liu Jingmiao, Party secretary of the School of Overseas Education (School of Foreign Languages), and Lu Min, dean of the School. They were joined by numerous other Chinese and foreign teachers who participated in the discussions, offering guidance and encouragement to the students. They emphasized that language serves as a bridge that connects people, deepens friendships, and expands worldviews.

The English–Chinese Language Corner will be held weekly and continue as a long-term initiative, further broadening students' international perspectives and fostering a harmonious, inclusive campus environment at Sanming University.

The inaugural event brought together a diverse group of foreign teachers and students from Bangladesh, Russia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Mali, Uzbekistan, and other countries, alongside their Chinese peers, creating a vibrant and internationally diverse atmosphere.

Through group discussions, cultural storytelling, and language practice, participants gained fresh perspectives and formed genuine friendships.
