Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Exhibition Hall of Chinese Universities' Relocation During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression opened at Sanming University in Fujian province on Nov 8.

Organized by Sanming University with assistance from Xiamen University, East China Normal University, and more than 40 other universities nationwide, the exhibition recreates the arduous relocation journeys of over 150 Chinese universities from 1931 to 1945. It serves as a major platform for immersive ideological and political education in the new era, preserving a vital part of the nation's educational legacy.

The exhibition presents the first panoramic display of the nationwide university relocations during the war. Breaking free from regional or single-institution limitations, it outlines the full trajectory of these moves — beginning with Northeast University's exile in 1931 and extending through three large-scale relocations after the full outbreak of the War of Resistance in 1937.

It also marks the first systematic showcase of the wartime endeavors of more than 20 universities founded by the Communist Party of China, filling a longstanding gap in historical representation.

Additionally, as a specialized exhibition in Fujian, it highlights the wartime relocation and post-war development of universities in Fujian and Taiwan. Titled "The Unbroken Song: Across the Straits, Through the Fire", this section underscores the unique contributions and resilience of southeastern China's academic community during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
