China Daily published an eight-page spread on Wednesday to showcase Xiamen's high-quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. 

The coastal city of Fujian province has transformed its strategic visions into concrete achievements, establishing itself as a global model for sustainable and innovative development. 

Despite facing complex external challenges, Xiamen's economy has demonstrated resilience. During the 2020-24 period, its GDP surged from 638.4 billion yuan ($89.9 billion) to 858.9 billion yuan, achieving two 100-billion-yuan milestones, while per capita GDP rose from 124,000 yuan to 160,000 yuan.
