Fuzhou to hold conference to discuss sustainable aquaculture innovations

The 2026 First FAO-CFA Joint International Conference on Sustainable Aquaculture will be held from March 18 to 20 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province.

Under the theme "Collaboration for Sustainable Development", the event will gather government officials, academicians, and industry leaders from over 40 countries to chart a path for the green transformation of the aquaculture industry and to advance the implementation of Global Sustainable Aquatica (GSA) standards, injecting new momentum into the blue economy.

The conference will feature seven core topics addressing both forward-looking and practical aspects of aquaculture. Experts from China and abroad will deliver keynote speeches and special reports on promoting GSA guidelines, developing eco-friendly farming models, researching sustainable feeds, optimizing seed supply chains, and more. This platform aims to share innovative practices and provide technical support for the industry's green transition.

High-level roundtable discussions will explore policy coordination and international cooperation, integrating regional insights from Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America. Participants will work to align national policies with global sustainability goals, with a strong emphasis on partnerships that advance for responsible aquaculture practices worldwide.

Serving as a vital platform for in-depth exchanges, the conference will facilitate dialogue between Chinese and international political, industrial, and research communities. It seeks to align China's aquaculture industry with global standards, underscoring the country's commitment to sustainable practices.
