The Fujian Football City League is scheduled to kick off on April 19, adopting a model of "provincial coordination, city teams, and county selection" to promote grassroots football and ignite a widespread passion for the sport across the province.

The league will bring together teams from nine cities and one district across Fujian, forming a total of 10 teams with 482 players. Participants, aged 16 to 45, come from diverse backgrounds, including students, teachers, corporate employees, and entrepreneurs. The Fujian Football City League features both native Fujian players and new residents, such as Taiwan compatriots living and working in the region, highlighting a spirit of inclusivity and diversity.

This football league follows a three-stage format: regular season, ranking matches, and finals, running from mid-April to late October. Notably, the league will also host friendly matches with teams from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities, further fostering cultural exchange through football.

Launching on April 19, the league will feature a spectacular opening ceremony and inaugural match featuring all 10 participating teams. These teams will showcase the distinctive cultural character of Fujian's nine cities and one district.

The league serves as a catalyst for integrating culture, sports, tourism, and commerce in Fujian. A themed initiative to stimulate consumption will be launched, introducing special cultural and tourism routes. In partnership with local restaurants, scenic spots, hotels, and theaters, the program will offer the public a range of discounts and benefits. Ticket prices will remain highly affordable, starting at just 9.9 yuan ($1.45), ensuring that the community can enjoy the excitement of football while gaining real, tangible benefits.
