The 2026 Quanzhou Fashion Week kicked off on April 17 with a grand opening ceremony and the first-ever fashion show at Wulin Traditional Village in Jinjiang city.
This debut show, a highlight of the fashion week, broke free from conventional exhibition hall boundaries by setting the stage in a traditional Minnan (southern Fujian) village. The red-brick ancient buildings and the fusion of flagstone paths with swallowtail ridges and modern lighting created an immersive Eastern fashion space, transforming a "world heritage site" into a "fashion show stage".
Models showcased apparel from Quanzhou brands, emerging from the stages with local characteristics. The show seamlessly blended Maritime Silk Road culture, overseas Chinese ancestral home culture, Eastern aesthetics, and modern business travel trends, offering guests a visual feast rich in cultural depth and fashion appeal.
Since last year, Quanzhou has leveraged fashion to integrate industry, world heritage, and cultural tourism resources. The government and enterprises have jointly launched Quanzhou Fashion Week to propel the industry toward high-end, branded, and international development. During the event, Quanzhou aims to foreground industry development and enterprise needs, making the event a platform for promoting industrial upgrades and trade exchanges.
The 2026 Quanzhou Fashion Week will run until May 31. Over 60 related events will take place, including the Jiuri Mountain Fashion Dialogue, the 28th Straits Textile Clothing Fair & Global Men's Wear Supply Chain Exhibition, and the 27th Jinjiang Footwear & Sports Industry International Exposition.
By leveraging its overseas Chinese ancestral home and Maritime Silk Road advantages, Quanzhou aims to attract over 10,000 domestic and international guests, designers, and buyers, injecting strong momentum into industrial upgrading and trade development.
