Fuzhou has claimed the top position for international influence image index of Chinese cities in the "Report on the International Digital Image Index of Chinese Cities", which was unveiled in Chongqing on Dec 28.

This report systematically assessed the international digital presence and communication effectiveness of 106 major Chinese cities, showcasing a more confident, multidimensional, and rich international image of contemporary China.

Renmin University of China released a report in May on the domestic digital image of Chinese cities. This latest report extends to the global digital space, evaluating cities' international communication effectiveness. Together, these provide a comprehensive academic framework for understanding the spread of Chinese city images.

Cities such as Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Ningbo are attracting growing global attention, reflecting a trend in urban development. Cities like these have ascended national rankings due to the high proportion of positive coverage they receive in international media and on social platforms.

Additionally, the report notes that cities with a permanent urban resident population of over one million but less than three million, including Putian, have strong international search performance, sometimes surpassing larger cities.
